It's My Business

It’s My Business helps students aged 13 to 15 learn about entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship while providing a strong focus on social studies, reading and writing skills. Students are encouraged to use critical thinking to learn entrepreneurial skills that support positive attitudes as they explore and enhance their career aspirations. Through a number of sessions and the completion of an enterprise project, students underpin the business concepts they learn with games and activities.

Outcomes of the programme include:

• Understand what entrepreneurship means and recognise their own entrepreneurial potential
• Research market needs
• Appreciate the skills and knowledge needed to start a business
• Discover how to market product to specific customers
• Develop business plans
• Analyse information as part of managing a business
