Our students from Chiswick House School & St Martin’s College – Malta have won the 2023 Global FinCap Challenge!
This follows their victory in our National Innovation Challenge as part of the JA Worldwide initiative, 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, supported by the HSBC Malta Foundation.
The team of students in Malta representing JA Malta, earned first place for their brilliant idea for Malteasy. Malteasy is an app that informs tourists about events, markets, and experiences while also connecting and promoting local producers and service providers with other Malteasy users.
For the Global FinCap Challenge event, the student team behind Malteasy added a new feature for tourists: a budgeting tool that creates daily itineraries based on their resources.
How did they get there? Teams from all over Malta participated in the 𝑰𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒇 Challenge, whereby students were asked to come up with an innovation and campaign to create local jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities to support local products and culture that promote beneficial and sustainable tourism across the region. Each team member had a role, from inventors to marketing strategists and everything in between. Malteasy won the National Innovation Challenge in Malta and thus earned the right to participate (and win!) the Global Innovation Challenge held on the 1st of June. This was yet another incredible milestone achieved for JA Malta.
