JA MALTA STORIES
Economics for Success at Junior College
On 4th February, we were at Junior College delivering our Economics for Success programme 💡
Students explored real-world economics, financial decision-making, and the practical skills they’ll need to navigate life beyond the classroom. Because at JA Malta, we believe learning works best when you do it.

Skills Set Series Welcomes 200+ Students
On 5 February, we were back at the Radisson for another edition of our Skills Set Series 💡
Over 200 students took part in hands-on sessions focused on real-world skills, decision-making, and workplace readiness — learning by doing, exactly as it should be.
We were proud to welcome students from:
St. Dorothy’s Senior School (Żebbuġ), Saint Albert the Great College, Our Lady Immaculate School, St Michael School, St Aloysius College (Secondary School), St Francis School (Msida–San Ġwann), St Joseph Senior School (Sliema), and The Archbishop’s Minor Seminary.
A sincere thank you to Deloitte, Farsons Group, and AMSM – Alf. Mizzi & Sons Marketing Group for the goodies provided to students 🙌
This event was organised in collaboration with the Secretariat for Catholic Education and Deloitte.

Leaders for a Day: Students Step Into the World of Leadership
On 12 and 13 February, students had the opportunity to step into the real world of leadership, shadowing professionals and gaining first-hand insight into what leadership looks like in practice.
A sincere thank you to all the leaders who dedicated their time across both days to mentor, inspire, and guide our students.
At JA Malta, we believe in learning by doing and Leaders for a Day is where that journey begins.
🚀 JA Malta Start-Up Programme Launch and Bootcamp
On 21 February, we officially launched the JA Malta Start-Up Programme at EY Malta, welcoming a new cohort of young entrepreneurs ready to begin their journey of turning ideas into action through learning by doing.
A sincere thank you to our partners for their continued support in making this programme possible. We also extend our appreciation to Mark Bajada for delivering the opening address, and to our speakers who presented this year’s Start-Up Programme awards and shared insights on the opportunities ahead.
The learning journey continued with our Start-Up Programme Bootcamp, held on 27 and 28 February, bringing together participants for two impactful days of practical learning and insight.
On Friday, we welcomed Marion Bugeja from the Malta Digital Innovation Authority and Rebecca Gera from misco, who led engaging sessions on prototyping and market research, helping participants test their ideas and better understand their target audiences.
On Saturday, the day began with an inspiring discussion led by Elenya Spiteri from MedyMind, last year’s programme winner, who shared reflections from her JA journey. This was followed by a session from our CEO, Matthew Caruana, on the Business Model Canvas, guiding participants in strengthening the foundations of their startups.
Participants also heard from Luca Bondin from Digital Brain, who explored the role of AI in business innovation, and Frank Zammit, who delivered valuable insights on branding and positioning.
From the programme launch to the bootcamp weekend, it has been an inspiring start to this year’s Start-Up Programme, filled with practical tools, real-world expertise, and learning by doing in action.
With thanks to our partners: HSBC Malta Foundation, Jobsplus, EY Malta, Tech.mt, Bolt, Malta Business Registry (MBR), and Camilleri Preziosi Advocates.
