Our mission is to inspire and prepare young people (aged 7 to 30) to succeed in a global economy through programmes in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness. If you are looking for a new challenge and for an impactful role, we are currently recruiting a Social Media Executive to join our team.

 

Main Functions

  • Content Creation: Develop engaging content (posts, images, videos) that highlight the foundation’s programmes, success stories, events, and partnerships.
  • Social Media Strategy: Create and execute a social media strategy that aligns with JA Malta’s goals of promoting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness.
  • Promote Events and Competitions: Publicise the foundation’s events, such as Innovation Camps, programme events and awards ceremonies, to attract participants and audiences.
  • Engage with the Youth Audience: Actively engage with students, educators, and parents on social media platforms to build a strong online community.
  • Campaign Management: Run targeted social media campaigns to attract more students to participate in JA Malta programmes and raise awareness about the foundation’s initiatives.
  • Educational Content: Share educational posts related to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and career development, aligning with the JA Malta’s mission.
  • Monitor and Respond to Inquiries: Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from the public, helping them learn more about JA Malta’s offerings and answering any questions.
  • Live Event Coverage: Provide live coverage of key events, competitions, and workshops on social media through live streams, stories, and real-time posts.
  • Manage Paid Social Media Ads: Set up and manage paid ad campaigns to boost visibility of JA Malta’s initiatives, focusing on increasing participant sign-ups and partner engagement.
  • Content Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a social media content calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of content that aligns with important dates and events.
  • Increase Brand Awareness: Implement strategies to increase the JA Malta’s visibility among students, educators, parents, and business leaders across Malta.
  • Track and Report Social Media Metrics: Use analytics tools to track engagement, reach, follower growth, and campaign performance, reporting results to the foundation’s leadership team.
  • Coordinate with PR: Collaborate with the foundation’s marketing, PR, and programme teams to ensure a unified message and strategic approach across all communications.
  • Develop Creative Campaigns for Specific Programmes: Design unique campaigns to promote individual programmes like the JA Company Programme or Financial Literacy workshops to reach specific audiences effectively.
  • Manage the website for regular updates
  • Design and develop some marketing collateral when needed.

 

Required skills and Characteristics

The ideal candidate for the position of Social Media Executive will be a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is energetic and enthusiastic, with the capacity to engage and motivate others. Successful candidates will have:

  • Content Creation Skills: Ability to create engaging, relevant, and visually appealing content (text, images, videos) for different social media platforms.
  • Social Media Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok, along with emerging trends.
  • Copywriting Skills: Strong writing skills to craft compelling and clear social media posts and captions.
  • Graphic Design Knowledge: Basic skills in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Premier Pro) to create branded content and visuals.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Proficiency in using social media analytics tools (e.g., Facebook Insights, Google Analytics) to track performance and optimise strategies.
  • Social Media Advertising: Experience with paid social media advertising (e.g., Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads) for promoting events and campaigns.
  • Audience Engagement: Ability to interact effectively with followers, respond to inquiries, and foster community engagement.
  • Project Management: Organisational skills to manage multiple campaigns and a content calendar.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Creative mindset to develop fresh, engaging ideas and campaigns that resonate with young audiences.
  • Basic Video Editing: Familiarity with video editing tools for creating short, impactful videos for social media.
  • SEO and Hashtag Strategy: Knowledge of SEO principles and effective use of hashtags to increase post visibility and engagement.
  • Campaign Management: Experience in planning and executing multi-platform social media campaigns.
 

It is preferred that the candidate also has:

  • A keen interest in at least one of the fields of entrepreneurship, financial capability, and employability. 
  • Understanding of the non-profit landscape and JA Malta’s mission, with the ability to align social media efforts accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills and attentive to detail, ideally in both English and Maltese.
  • Ability to adapt to different stakeholders, including youth, teachers, parents, corporate and policy makers.
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience with editing software like Adobe, Capcut, DaVinci, Canva


The role will require the candidate to be flexible to work during events and sessions which sometimes happen in the evening or on a few Saturdays. These will be preplanned and well communicated in advance.
