Project Green is delighted to announce itspartnership with Junior Achievement Malta for this year’s version of the Company Programme (previously known as Young Enterprise), , a youth development programme that empowers students through immersive learning experience in work readiness, financial capability, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
This year’s JA Company Programme is held under the theme of “Your Ideas Grow Here”, aligning with Project Green’s commitment to cultivating ideas that promote a more sustainable and green future.
The JA Malta Company Programme celebrates young people’s creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial drive. Through this collaboration, project green aims to highlight the importance of integrating sustainability and green thinking into business practices, encouraging young participants to design ventures that positively impact the environment.
As part of this initiative, Project Green will provide each participant with seed packets and ecofriendly reusable cups in their welcome pack. A reminder that great ideas, like seeds, need care, patience and dedication to grow.
In further recognition of the importance of sustainable innovation, project green will also sponsor this year’s “sustainability and green practice” award, which will be presented to the team that demonstrated the most outstanding eco-friendly business idea and commitment to a greener future. The Award is set to be given at the JA Malta Marketplace, which offers the cohort with an opportunity to sell and engage with customers in Valletta by setting up a pop-up market and stands for participating teams. Teams eligible for this award will be those who also embed green practices in their stand set up during this event.
At the end of the programme, 33 teams will come together for a tree planting ceremony, with all the trees being provided by project green. Each team will plant a tree named after their group. This will serve as a living legacy of each group’s commitment to sustainability.
“Through our partnership with Junior Achievement Malta, we want to inspire young people to think sustainably from the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journeys,” said Françoise Chetcuti, head of stakeholder management at Project green. “Every idea has the potential to grow into something extraordinary when nurtured with purpose and care.”
Echoing this, CEO of JA Malta Matthew Caruana added; “At JA Malta, we’ve always encouraged young people to dream big, but also to think about the kind of world they want to build. We believe young people have incredible ideas and when those ideas are created with sustainability in mind, they can change the world. Our partnership with Project Green helps us show that good ideas can do good things for Malta, our future and our planet.”
