How I feel this experience has helped me get closer to my career goals – testimonial by Lara Pace

As a student embarking on university life for the first time, I can wholeheartedly say that my initial year was filled with a whirlwind of new experiences, mixed emotions, and challenges. The year brought excitement, but also anxiety and uncertainty, leaving me questioning what the future might hold. I found myself struggling to fully grasp what my path forward would look like.

This summer, however, I had the incredible opportunity to become part of the Junior Achievement (JA) community; a close-knit family of individuals all working in unison to achieve and unlock new potential. One thing has become clear to me about my future: I aspire to be a guide for others, helping them discover their true selves and overcome any obstacles standing in their way. My time with JA has not only fostered my personal growth, but has also marked a significant transition from adolescence to adulthood.

Through my involvement with JA, I’ve expanded my knowledge in areas such as entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. More importantly, I’ve gained clarity on who I want to become in the future. Little did I know that a single summer working with JA would bring me so much closer to my career aspirations. The Junior Achievement community’s mission to inspire, prepare, and succeed has not only allowed me to contribute to the growth of younger generations but has also been a transformative experience for me personally.

When I first joined JA, I carried with me a fear of never finding my true purpose in life. Yet, now coming to the end of my summer, I feel like a changed person in many ways. This experience has influenced not only my career goals, but has also deeply impacted my inner self. I have gained new-found confidence, perspective, and a mindset focused on making a positive difference in communities. I am beyond grateful for my journey with JA, as it has been significant in shaping the person I am becoming.
