JA Malta is thrilled to announce that two Maltese youth entrepreneurship teams achieved outstanding recognition at Gen-E 2025, Europe’s premier entrepreneurship festival for students. Held from 1–3 July in Athens and themed “Trace Your Path Forward,” Gen-E brought together over 1,000 participants from over 40 countries, following the online Virtual Expo that showcased more than 2,000 student-led ventures.

Representing Malta, Simplex from the Company Programme and MediMynd from the StartUp Programme made a remarkable mark on the European stage. MediMynd clinched 3rd place in the prestigious Innovation of the Year award and taking home the FedEx Access Award, highlighting their healthcare-focused project’s creativity, impact, and potential.

While not placing in the top three, Simplex impressed judges and peers alike with their polished presentation and entrepreneurial integrity, further contributing to Malta’s growing reputation in student-led innovation.

Gen-E serves as the culmination of JA Europe’s annual Company and StartUp Programmes, engaging thousands of young entrepreneurs across the continent in both virtual and in-person events. Malta’s success in Athens affirms our place among Europe’s most promising start-ups and mini companies.

“This year’s Gen-E not only celebrated innovation; it affirmed the power of young people to lead change in their communities,” said Matthew Caruana, JA Malta CEO. “We are incredibly proud of MediMynd and Simplex, whose dedication and creativity have showcased Malta’s entrepreneurial spirit on a European platform.”

Malta’s Gen-E achievements underscore the impact of JA Malta’s programmes and the incredible talent being nurtured through our StartUp and Company journeys. As JA Malta looks ahead, these successes fuel our ambition to further develop bold, future-ready changemakers.

JA Malta extends heartfelt thanks to all our partners, mentors, educators, and schools who have been instrumental throughout this academic year. Your continued support has empowered students to dream bigger, innovate boldly, and represent Malta with pride.

We would like to especially acknowledge HSBC Malta Foundation and Jobsplus for their exemplary commitment and invaluable contributions. Their support has played a pivotal role in enriching the experiences and opportunities available to our students.

We look forward to building on this momentum together.
