Thursday 31st August saw the culmination of a summer of delivering JA’s Europe My Business and Our Community Programmes to this year’s SkolaSajf participants. Europe my Business is an interactive classroom programme, which explores the relationship between the natural, human and capital resources found in different countries. It also explores European business and trade, which produce goods and services for consumers. Our Community is a programme that introduces students to the intersection of work readiness, and early primary school social studies learning objectives, including how citizens benefit from and contribute to a community’s success, and the part they play in it. Children discover the identity of a community, its activities, its people and jobs. In a simple manner, pupils also study the social responsibility of a business, and the role of government in the economy.

This year’s final event saw a total of 19 teams from all over Malta and Gozo presenting their companies and products in front of their parents, guardians, peers, educators, the JA team and our partners. Our Community was won by Art Gallery from Santa Venera, while Europe My Business was won by the Our Galaxy T-Shirt from Ħamrun.

These two programmes are available all year round, so do not hesitate to contact us should you wish JA to deliver Europe My Business and Our Community at your school or organisation.

This year’s event would not have been possible without our hosts, The Malta Chamber, as well as our partners, HSBC Malta Foundation, EY Malta, The European Parliament Liaison Office in Malta, The Ministry for the Economy, Lands and European Funds, Nestle Malta and Faraxa Publishers.
