On the 24th of May 2025, JA Malta celebrated the 36th edition of its annual Finals and Awards Night at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, at the University of Malta.
This year, over 250 students from 12 schools and educational institutions participated in the JA Malta Company and StartUp Programmes. Representing a wide range of academic backgrounds, the participating institutions included: G.F. Abela Junior College, De La Salle College Sixth Form, Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form, Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School, Central Mediterranean Business School, Verdala International School, Institute of Tourism Studies, St. Edward’s College Sixth Form, St. Aloysius College Sixth Form, Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education (SMI), Manzoni Fashion School, and the University of Malta. The evening highlighted the hard work, creativity, and dedication of these young participants.
The evening was filled with excitement and anticipation as 15 judges faced the challenging task of selecting the winners from a pool of exceptional talent. These participants vied for the titles of Company of the Year and StartUp of the Year.
The winning teams were Simplex from St. Aloysius College Sixth Form, crowned Company of the Year, and MediMind from Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education (SMI), named StartUp of the Year. These teams will now represent Malta at #Gen_E – the largest entrepreneurship festival in Europe, which will be held in Athens, Greece from 1st to 3rd July 2025, competing against 42 other countries. Additionally, both teams for these two awards will also get 1 Year membership with the Malta Chamber and 10 hours of consultancy and support from Bajada Group to tweak their reports and presentations for the international experience.
